Animals Almost Done

Last night I stayed up until 1 a.m. working on the puzzle!  That's really late for me as I'm usually in bed by 10 to 10:30 at the latest.  I was on a roll and just wanted to keep puzzling.  Plus, there's no clock in my puzzle room so time really can get away from me in there.

Anyway, I am happy to report that I made some good progress.  The horse is now mostly complete as well as the kangeroo and the flamingos.  I still have a few pieces here and there on each animal, but the biggest part is out of the way.

Here's a new picture of what I got knocked out last night.  Hoping to puzzle again in the morning before Derek wakes up.  Wish me luck there....LOL

Still Sick, but More Sick of NOT PUZZLING....

So I decided to get up at 6:30 this morning and knock out a few pieces before Derek woke up.  It felt really great to be working with the pieces again.  I have really missed my puzzling time the last few weeks with the travel and all the sicknesses I have had.  I'm still not feeling well...I think I somehow caught a second cold on top of the first one starting to leave...UGH.  But, I decided to go ahead and make productive use of the time anyway.

I didn't get a whole lot accomplished, but I did at least get a decent start on the horse and the dolphin.  I also got most of the lizard guy running into the water in place too.  I think I will see if I can convince Derek to play in the basement for a bit today so that I can work on it a little more.  It's soo addictive....  :o)

Here's a couple of pictures of this morning's progress.  Will post more later in the day if I get another chance to work on it.

What Would You Do?

This afternoon I decided to open the Rizzi City box just to see what it looked like and feel some of the pieces.  I LOVE how Ravensburger puzzle pieces look and feel.  So much nicer than most puzzle makers.  But then now I have a dilemna, and I wanted to get other puzzling enthusiasts thoughts.

I bought the puzzle used through Amazon from a guy who had completed and disassembled it and put it back in the original box before selling.  When I opened the box, I discovered that there are several large "chunks" of puzzle pieces already assembled that he didn't break apart completely before returning to the box.  Here's the big question...would you take these already assembled pieces and break them apart before starting on the puzzle yourself, or would you consider them a "gift", knowing that these are already done for you and all you have to do is add to them?  Here's a picture of what I'm talking about...

I've just scratched the surface of the box and already found several of these chunks so I'm sure there will be even more as I dig deeper.

My initial thought is that yes, I should pull them apart and mix them in with the rest of the pieces so I am truly doing the entire puzzle by myself.  However, I've always been told "never look a gift horse in the mouth" so maybe I should leave them intact as much as possible and just consider myself lucky that there are these little gems in the box.

Hmmm.....

So Sick of Being SICK!!!!

This has been the worst few months for me as far as being sick.  During this pregnancy so far, I have been sick 5 times total.  Early in my first trimester I got a bad cold / flu virus that lasted for about 2 weeks and turned into bronchitis and a sinus infection.  Then in the second trimester I got a tooth infection and had to have it pulled.  I also got a relatively mild case of food poisoning.  Moving on to my third trimester, I got the worst stomach virus I've ever had.  The cramps and abdominal pain were so intense that I couldn't even sleep...that just finally went away last week after 3.5 days of misery.  And now, I've got another cold / virus thing happening.  I'm miserable, and sick to death of not feeling good.  Nothing to do with the baby - he's fine, but all of these viruses are getting to me.  I'm so stuffed up I can't breath, laying down in bed makes it worse, and now the congestion  has started moving into my chest and making me cough and gag really hard.  YUCK!!!!

Anyway, I know this supposed to be a blog about my jigsaw puzzles, and not about bitching and moaning about being sick, but due to all these illnesses, I really haven't made much progress at all on Section 2. Then of course we also left for 1.5 weeks to go to Florida and take Derek to Disney World.  The trip was a blast and we had such a great time seeing The Magic Kingdom through his eyes.  Quite magical!

Here are a couple of new pictures...as you can see not a lot of progress has been made, but most of the right side of the rainbow is finished, most of the blue planet (Neptune?), and the butterflies are in place now.

Thanks for sticking with me.
