4 Historic World Maps – Opening the box

Here are some of the first pictures of this beautiful puzzle.  I will not be starting the build on this one for some time yet as I want to finish the Life puzzle first, but I love looking at the pieces and feeling them as they’re just so much nicer than the Educa pieces of the Life puzzle.

The big box!

18,000 pieces in all its glory!

The puzzle pieces are so nice and luxurious feeling after working with the Educa pieces for so long now.

  1. This made me go back and look at mine. I thought the cardboard on my was the old blue-green board and not the new blue board. So at appears at this point Ravensburger had switched to their blue board but had not yet created the soft-click process. This puzzle is lose, but nothing like Life, compared to Rizzi or Double Retrospect.

  2. So you are saying that mine looks like a newer version of yours after they changed the cardboard coloring to blue? I'm confused.

  3. I got mine a year ago (after a year of hunting). I started a couple of months ago, taking a break last month, and am almost done with the first section (bottom-right corner). I have the blue-green colour back too, as do all of my old Ravensburger puzzles. My new 3000 piece 1665 world map Ravensburger has the blue board and the soft-click technology. However, I personally find that the older puzzles "click" much, much better than the soft-click puzzles.

Best of luck on your venture. Try not to kill yourself when you are working on the golden border.

    Regards

  4. Who did the golden frame around? How did you do it? We are completely stuck…. how many lines does the outer side has where picture terminates and how many lines to concert between pictures? Can’t finish the golden frame around as we started with pictures themselves…
