1,000 pc. – Bizarre Bookshop I – Ravensburger

1,000 pc. – Bizarre Bookshop I – Ravensburger

I was starting to get frustrated that I wasn’t getting much time to spend on the Life puzzle because it’s difficult to tuck myself away in the puzzle room while Randy is upstairs in the family room watching TV.  I want to work on the puzzle, but I also want and need to spend time with him too.  So, I decided that since I can no longer work on this section upstairs in the family room easily, I would try working on a small puzzle that I could fit on my small puzzling table in the family room.

The puzzle I chose to work on was Ravensburger’s Bizarre Bookshop.  It’s only 1,000 pieces so not too difficult, and it’s a very cute scene.  So, I took the plunge and decided to give it a whirl.  It was fun, and a puzzle that I’m planning to use as a tester for the contact paper / spray mounting technique that I want to use on the Life puzzle.

  1. Hi Penny,

I recently completed Bizarre Bookshop Number 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it, although I have to admit that it did take me an age to finish!

I love Colin Thompson's artwork and thought you might be interested in the 18,000 piece 'Shelf Life' puzzle he is bringing out this month, once again in conjunction with Ravensburger.

I am already coveting this puzzle, although the price tag is probably going to put it out of my reach and in all honesty, finding the space to work on the scene, is going to be very difficult.

I hope that your spray mounting technique worked well and didn't damage the completed jigsaw. An overview of how you did it, would be interesting 🙂

  2. Thanks, Yvonne! I love his work too. I have Bizarre Bookshop II as well, but haven't yet attempted it. Still trying to get this Life monster done. LOL I think this is my year though, finally. I am about 40% done with Section 4 now….so getting there!

Thank you so much also for the mention and link on your latest blog post. I really appreciate it.

Hope all is well with you!

    Penny
