New Puzzle Week

New Puzzle Week

This last week I received a couple of puzzles that I found used on Craigslist for a very cheap price.  It turns out that Craigslist is an amazing place to find good deals on puzzles.  You have to do a nationwide search of course as it’s unlikely that you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for if you only search your own local region, but I’ve found that most people are willing to ship their puzzle to you, even when you’re on the complete opposite end of the country, if you’re willing to pay for the cost of shipping in addition to the cost of the puzzle via Paypal.

I got this one for only $5 plus a little more for USPS shipping.  I really like Neuschwanstein Castle puzzles, but only the ones where the castle itself is in the foreground and the surrounding forest and mountains are minimal.  Most of the Castle puzzles I’ve seen have the forest and mountains as the main focus and the Castle seems like just a little blip by comparison.  The pictures are being taken at too far a distance in my opinion.  But, I really like this one, and one other one that I bought brand new a while back by Clementoni.

I also received Bizarre Bookshop I.  This one is going out of print, I believe, having been replaced by the follow up, Bizarre Bookshop II. Both of these were purchased new, but for a really low price.  I’m looking forward to doing both of these and hanging them both up on my second floor landing where I have all my books.

And, I also received my first 5,000 piece puzzle.  Another awesome Craigslist find for only $20!  It’s called Views of Modern Rome.  This one is going to be difficult in that there are lots of gold colored frames and small buildings that are all essentially the same color.  Should be interesting!  :o)
